FAQ's

MTX Utility Services specializes in underground utility work across Southern and Central Utah. Our core services include hydro-vac excavation, directional drilling, utility installation, trenching, and conduit installation. We also offer land management, brush removal, fire mitigation, and flood mitigation services. We work primarily with contractors and commercial clients on demanding job sites.
MTX Utility Services serves Southern and Central Utah, including St. George, Washington, Hurricane, Santa Clara, Cedar City, Richfield, Beaver, Fillmore, and surrounding areas. For projects outside these areas, contact us and we'll review availability.
Yes. MTX Utility Services is fully licensed, bonded, and insured to perform excavation and utility work in Utah. We carry general liability insurance and workers compensation coverage on every job. Proof of insurance and bonding is available upon request — contact us at office@teammtx.com or (435) 242-6206.
Both. MTX Utility Services operates as a prime contractor on many projects and also takes on subcontractor roles under general contractors and utility contractors. We're comfortable in either position and understand the coordination requirements of both.
MTX Utility Services owns and operates a hydro-vac truck and directional drill — the two most critical pieces of equipment for our core services. We also run dump trucks, water trucks, and other support equipment. For large or specialty equipment requirements, we rent what the job needs so you're never paying for equipment sitting idle.
Hydro-vac excavation uses high-pressure water and a powerful vacuum system to safely expose underground utilities without damaging them. It's the preferred method when precision matters — working near existing utilities, in congested underground areas, or anywhere mechanical digging creates too much risk. MTX Utility Services operates a dedicated hydro-vac truck and is available 24/7 for emergency situations.
Directional drilling is the right choice when you need to install utilities underground without disturbing the surface above. It's commonly used for road and driveway crossings, installations under existing structures, fiber and conduit placement, and pipeline work in environmentally sensitive areas. It causes significantly less disruption than open-cut trenching and is often faster on the right job.
MTX Utility Services primarily works with general contractors, utility contractors, power companies, municipalities, and commercial developers. We also review projects for private landowners on a case-by-case basis. Contact us to discuss your project and we'll let you know if it's a good fit.
We prioritize fast response times, especially for hydro-vac work where our emergency line is available 24/7. Scheduling for standard jobs depends on project scope and current workload, but we understand that job sites run on tight timelines and we do everything we can to accommodate urgent requests. Call (435) 851-2291 for emergency hydro-vac response.
Yes. Our hydro-vac services are available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week for emergency situations. If you have a utility strike, an urgent exposure need, or a time-critical situation on a job site, call our emergency line at (435) 851-2291.
We specialize specifically in underground utility work — not general excavation. Our team brings roughly 20 years of combined field experience and we own our key equipment including a hydro-vac truck, directional drill, and excavators. That means faster mobilization, no subcontracting core work, and a crew that understands complex jobsite requirements. We work almost exclusively with contractors and commercial clients, so we understand what professional job sites demand.
